Mamma to Holly and wife to my husbabe Geoff, born and bred Midlands, Kzn girl with an obsession for all things stationery. I have piles of notebooks and hundreds of pens and am at my happiest in my mums garden-surrounded by her beautiful hydrangeas. Champagne and baking also rank high on my list of FAVS alongside my obsession with bold interior spaces.
Fashion and design are my ultimate passion with so much of my inspiration being drawn from my experience with fabrics and prints in my buying career. I spent most of my working career designing my friends and families wedding stationery and have a passion for beautiful tactile suites.
The diversity of my role at Indigo and Ivory Designs excites me everyday! I am inspired by beautiful brands and add value through identity refreshes, business stationery design and product styling.
I love that every day is different.
I’m a farm girl at heart having grown up in the idyllic town of Hilton and spent so much of my childhood on my grandparents farm in Nottingham Road. I studied Fashion Design in Durban and spent time interning at an international Magazine and at Cape Town Fashion week-pushing clothing rails around, is my specialty!
Ten years of designing and buying in the fashion industry followed. Working on an African Luxury brand as head designer and then moving on to buying for a big retailer across various departments, which included lots of travel.
Once having Holly my priorities shifted. She was premture, had meningitis at 2 weeks old and at 5 months and was then diagnosed with epilepsy. With the travelling and demands of the corporate world, I wasn’t coping and we decided that something had to give. I was wildly passionate about my corporate career, so this was a hard but necessary decision and lifestyle change for our family to make.
We sold our home, moved into a cottage on our in-laws property whilst we planned to build our home. Indigo and Ivory was born-within the four walls of the cottage from a pure desire to design, create and connect.
And I’ve never felt more fulfilled.
